Thai movies galoooore
Wednesday, May 26th, 2010HIYA back folks. Haven’t updated for a long time!
I’ve been doing nothing really, im not even considering reading my books even though my finals are coming very soon, waaaay too soon. But as a professional procrastinator, if there is still time, there’s no possible way for me to consider studying as an option. Especially when my laptop is on the floor, constantly inciting me to turn it on…
I watched Bangkok Traffic Love Story yesterday. It’s a Thai movie that released in late 2009. I had watched the trailer soon after it came out, but never got to watch it.
Simple plot: A thirty-something woman (Mei Lee) is still single and seeing all of her girl friends getting married. She’s the kinda clumsy, overthinking and introvert when it comes to guys. But then she meets this handsome engineer (Loong) when she was driving home -drunk- and accidently lost control of her car. Then they get to meet each other frenquently and randomly, in the BTS… and the story goes on.
It caught my attention for 3 reasons:
1. It’s starring Ken Theeradeth and I don’t really think I could let myself miss any bit of his hotness
2. It involves the BTS
3. Cris Horwang (the lead actress) looked too cute.
4. And it’s a romantic comedy… crappy plot, highly-unlikely story that’d never happen to anyone of us.. but for some reason I enjoy it so much and I unconsciously hope and think that I could meet a nice, intelligent, handsome, sexy and SINGLE guy randomly in the skytrain who would be interested in me… one day.
Since my mom went to Thailand, she bought us the vcd.
As expected, i love it.

Additionally, la prestigieuse Palme d’Or du Festival de Cannes was awarded this year to Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s for his film- Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives. I had heard from him from a recent article in a french newspaper Le Monde. Much of a ‘artsy’ movie to me, watch the trailer and you’ll get what I mean.
